What Happens In A Makerspace?
In a recent Grant Wood AEA article, Librarian Chelsea Sims, from SEJH, shares a little bit about what you might find in one of our secondary school Makerspaces and how the spaces are being used in our schools. The ICCSD Foundation funded Makerspaces in all ICCSD secondary schools in 2016.

Run for the Schools
A little over 1600 runners enjoyed a beautiful fall morning in support of our schools on Sunday, October 15. Thanks to MidWestOne and all race sponsors, as well as the runners and volunteers that make the race a success! Torch Trophy winners were:

Shine Awards Honor Staff
Several ICCSD staff members were honored with Shine Awards in the last two months courtesy of NXT Bank and the Iowa City area Hy-Vee stores. Congratulations to these staff who make our schools great!
LiveArts @Hancher Continues
All 8th graders will once again experience a live performance at Hancher this school year. As part of LiveArts@Hancher, coordinated by Any Given Child, students will attend Feathers of Fire: A Persian Epic on April 4th.
