The inaugural run of RUN CRANDIC, a marathon run from Cedar Rapids to Iowa City, took place on April 27, 2018. The run started in the NewBo neighborhood of Cedar Rapids and followed the CRANDIC train route south along Highway 965, ending at the University of Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City.
All proceeds from RUN CRANDIC, powered by the University of Iowa Community Credit Union, were split between the Iowa City Community School District and Cedar Rapids Community School District in support of their health and wellness programs. In 2018, ICCSD schools received over $27,000 from this race.
RUN CRANDIC also offer a half marathon, a 5K, and many opportunities to volunteer for the event in support of our schools. To find out how to register or volunteer for next year, check the RUN CRANIC website.
