STEM Initiatives

Encouraging students’ interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math – or STEM – is essential to meeting the needs of our society in the 21st century. Providing students with opportunities for hands-on learning experiences in STEM allows them to apply what they learn in the classroom to real problems.  The team work, communication, creativity and innovation skills developed in this type of learning environment provides students with tools and skills that they can take with them in any career they pursue.

In 2018, Integrated DNA Technologies became the title sponsor of these initiatives to support out of classroom experiences for secondary school students to enhance the STEM curriculum in our schools.  In 2015, a grant from Verizon provided additional funding for STEM learning.
